Hi,

If you have had unprotected sex, have a new partner or for any reason are worried you have been exposed to an STD, talk to your doctor about getting tested be tested for these leading common STDs like chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV, herpes, syphilis, trichomoniasis, hepatitis B and C etc.

You can do some investigations like urethral swab for C/S to detect chlamydia, gonorrhoea or trichomoniasis, urine R/M/E and C/S, blood test for HIV or swab from inside of mouth, blood test for genital herpes or swab of affected area, blood for syphilis or sample taken from a sore, blood for hepatitis B or hepatitis C etc to detect any underlying STDs and then treat them accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
