Suggest tests to diagnose genital herpes in women

Hello, is it possible to be wrongly diagnosed with Genital Herpes? My daughter is 22 and has only been with 1 guy, her current boyfriend. They both have had blood tests, her s was possitive and she has a horrendous outbreak and his blood test has come back negative.

Hello! The PCR test can tell if she has genital herpes even if she doesn't have symptoms. The PCR test looks for pieces of the virus's DNA in a sample taken from cells or fluids from a genital sore or the urinary tract. This is a commonly used test to diagnose genital herpes and is very accurate. Hope I have answered your questions. Take care. Regards
