Suggest Tests To Confirm The Presence Of TB

Hi Doctor, I had a TB in 2011 and I was cured. Every year we always have to undergo medical exam as part of the enrollment process. I had no problems regarding my xray but now Im afraid there might be active sign of TB again. They won't allow me to continue my study if there might be. How would I know if I have an active TB again without any medical test?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Welcome to healthcaremagic.com!

I really appreciate your concern. Lung TB can lead to certain symptoms like chest pain, cough with sputum , low grade fever, breathlessness, blood in sputum, night sweats, abnormal blood test, abnormal x ray etc.

But it is not necessary that only lung can be involved in disease. All most all the organs of the body can be affected by TB. So to confirm the diagnosis, you have to go through certain medical tests.

Hope my answer has solved your query. Take Care.

Thank you.

Best Regards.
Dr. Manan
