Suggest Suitable Therapy For Anxiety Disorder

I'm 19 years old, I have an anxiety disorder that produces a lot of bodily symptoms. However, for the last 3-4 days i have had a numbness, tingling, weakness, weird feeling down the right side of my body especially on my right buttock and the top of my hand and shin. I am under a lot of stress at the moment, and I was wondering if this could be caused by my anxiety disorder? Also, I spent several days last week sitting in an awkward position typing. I had an MRI scan 3 years ago.

Hello thanks for asking from HCM

The symptoms like multiple bodily complaints, numbness, tingling, weakness, tiredness, tingling etc could occur due to anxiety but there are other possibilities also.

One possibility we should rule out is some nutritional deficiency especially Vitamin B12, iron deficiency. Anaemia of iron deficiency may present with such symptoms and increased incidence of anxiety and multiple somatic complaints you have described. I would advise you to get your Hb and Vitamin B12 levels checked and start taking supplements containing Iron and Vitamin B12.
Hypothyroid state may also present with such symptoms and increased body stress.
Other possibility is anxiety disorder. Consult a good psychiatrist for proper diagnosis and management of problem. Medicines like Sertraline, Escitalopram are used for anxiety. For tingling and numbness medicines like Pregabalin, methylcobalamin can prove useful.
Consult a psychiatrist for prescription of these drugs.

Thanks, hope this helps you.
