Hi & Welcome.
I can understand your concern for your beloved father.
The following dietary measures are usually advised to patient suffering from liver cirrhosis:

He must avoid taking alcohol (if he is an alcoholic).
Low salt diet: Excess salt can cause body to retain fluids, worsening swelling in the abdomen and legs. Choose prepared foods that are low in sodium.
Canned foods should be avoided as they contain high sodium.
Healthy diet that includes a variety of fruits and vegetables.
Choose lean protein, such as legumes, poultry or fish.
The amount of protein intake should be reduced.
Increase the intake of carbohydrates to be in proportion with the amount of protein.
Raw seafood should be avoided.

Hope the suggestions could be of great help.
