Suggest Solutions For Verbal Disability

I HAVE A SON WHO HAS A VERBAL DISABILITY, BUT HE UNDERSTANDS EVERYTHING AND THINKS REAL GOOD BUT HE CAN NOT EXPRESS HIS THOUGHTS TO OTHERS. HE SUFFERS FROM THE AFTEREFFECTS OF REYSE SYNDROME. HE SUFFERS ALPHI-ONE-TRIPSON DEFFICIENCY. HE IS ON MAYBE 18 DIFFERENT MEDS. SOMETIMES HE IS REAL DOPPY AFTER HIS 5:00 P;M DRUGS FOR SEVERAL HOURS, BUT THEN MENTAL ALTENESS CLEAR UP. THE SAME IS TRUE WHEN HE TAKES HLIS 7;AM MEDS. WE SO MANY MEDS FROM SO MANY DOCTORS INVOLVED, MAYBE THE TIMMING AND AMOUONT OF MEDS ARE NOT INTERACTING WELL. AREN T THERE SPECIALISTS WHO DO THIS TYPE OF WORK ? IF SO, WHAT ARE THERE NAMES ?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The Reye syndrome takes a long period of time for recovery. My guidelines at present:
- Allow balanced nutritious diet
- Multi-vitamin and minerals to support recovery
- Speech therapist appointment (gives excellent outcomes over a period of time)
- Continue current medicines

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
