Suggest Sleeping Positions After Heart Valve Repair Surgery

hi i really need help! i did a valve heart repair (open heart surgery in national guard riyadh saudi arabia) but there phisio therapy advices are not best for, explaining how or what sleep positions i must take in order to sleep? (i have scolios mild too) pain killers not enough

Hello,
There is no problem in sleeping at any comfortable position except prone ( on your chest ) , even after open heart surgery after complete healing of the scar wound . In the initial part I have found that left lateral position is best , as during open heart surgery there is some amount of post operative pleurisy ( inflammation of lung covering ) , so if you sleep on one side , there is less movement on the same side and that will help in decreasing the pain , the other position is Supine ( sleeping on your back ) which is good .
So finally in my be view best is sleeping on side ( left) , ok for supine ( on back ) . Avoid prone ( sleeping on chest ).
