Suggest Safe Medicine For Sinusitis, Bronchitis, Laryngitis And Coughing

I am having serious diarrhea reaction to Augmentin. (Now day 5) I have an upper respiratory infection: sinusitis, bronchitis, laryngitis and coughing. I put in a call to my doctor to see if we can change the antibiotic and she will decide what else to prescribe. I recall having success a few years ago with Avelox for a similar illness. Hoping to suggest to my doctor one which has the least intestinal side effects. Also reading about Cefdinir.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are suffering from sinusitis, bronchitis, laryngitis and coughing. Well sinusitis is a inflammation of lining of sinus. You can start with Nasonex as that is a good medicine for symptoms such as congestion, sneezing, and runny nose caused by seasonal or year-round allergies. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order blood test , viral culture test or CT scan . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin or penicillin) or decongestant along with mucolytic agent . For now do saline nasal rinses , warm saline gargles and take steam twice a day .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
