General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thank you for asking healthcare magic.
This muscle soreness results from lengthening exercises which cause trauma on muscle fibers. This pain is felt 24 to 72 hours following exercise. This can be prevented by gradually increasing the intensity of new exercise programs. Exercise increases pain threshold and tolerance. The pain often disappears within 3 days. Massage, hot baths or use of icy water might be beneficial. Also, over-the-counter pain killers can be used.

I hope that answers your query. If you have more questions or any follow up query do not hesitate to write to us.
