Suggest Remedy For Weight Gain, acne And Depression Caused Due To Mirena

I have been on mirena for 6 months. I have vagina pain, massive weight gain, acne, low energy, and depression. I am debating getting it removed. It s helped my periods like I wanted but the side effects have left me feeling like a halo shell. I excersise, I eat right, I count calories, I take supplements to lose weight but I keep gaining. What can I do? Is there a way to avoid the mirena crash? Help me.

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Weight gain, mood swings, acne , irregular spotting are the side effects of progesterone hormone which is present in mirena IUD.
If the symptoms are troublesome, then you can get it removed and take other medical management for the problem in the menstrual periods.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
