General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Zolid contains metformin which is a medication that is used for different reasons including to help with with PCOS .

PCOS is one of the more common causes of irregular or delayed periods.

The metformin helps to reduce the insulin resistance that can occur with this condition and helps to normalize the periods.
The weight may be associated the other component of the medication that you are using (since this tablet has two meds in combination).

It may be possible to just use the metformin, you can ask your doctor about this option.

I hope this helps
