Suggest remedy for viral infection causing diarrhea, fatigue and dehydration

Hello Doc: I have a viral infection (according to my PCP) that is causing: light-headed feelings, diarrhea (with blood at times), night sweats and fatigue. I have also had very bad dehydration.

Blood tests indicate no issues except: low blood sugar and elevated liver enzymes (47 when it should be no higher than 40).

What can I do to get rid of this? How long does this take? It has been 3 weeks...

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Blooding diarrhea is sometimes associated with bacterial infection so you may want to consider a stool test to see if there is bacteria present.

If no bacteria or other infectious agent can be found then treatment would be mainly fluids and rest.
If it continues beyond the next 1 to 2 weeks then you should be reassessed.

I hope this helps
