Suggest Remedy For Swollen, Red, Itchy Bumps On Labia Majora After Shaving

Hello, I have swollen, red, itchy bumps on both sides of my labia majora after using a new brand of razors. No discharge. I shave there all the time and never had this issue. And it wasn t until about an hr after shaving when I started to feel the discomfort. They seem to be getting a little better after applying Aquaphor. Should I be concerned or is it just razor burn?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

The area is likely only inflamed/irritated from the use of this particular razor.

The use of a mild topical steroid cream would help to reduce this. Hydrocortisone would be available over the counter.

If it is painful then use of an oral anti inflammatory pain medication such as cataflam/naproxen/ibuprofen would help.

I hope this helps
