Suggest Remedy For Swollen Lips In A Child

My 2 1/2 yr old daughter fell off a high chair and hit her mouth on the tile floor. She slip her lip in a few places and there wasn t much bleeding. She vomited a little right after I picked her up. She told me that she hit her mouth and not the back or side of her head. She cried for about 30 seconds and seems fine. I checked her pupils they are the same on both sides. Should I take her to the hospital? It s been half an hour and she seems ok, just a little swollen on the lips.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....

As per your complain as your daughter has fallen on her face there might be traumatic injury to the lip leading to inflammation and swelling of the lip..
As she is acting completely normal you need ot to worry as there does not seems like anything serious..
You can do cool compresses on her lip and if there is pain you can give her tylenol..
I would also suggest you to inspect the inside of her lips to ok for any laceration that might have occurred due to hitting of teeth against her inner lips..
In case if you find any abnormal symptoms like recurring vomiting, dizziness or nasal bleeding immediately take her to emergency room..
As of now all seems alright..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
