Suggest Remedy For Swallowing Problem Due To Stroke
My 91 year old mother in- law had a stroke 10 days ago. She is 5 ft about 98 pounds with no prior medical conditon It was a full stroke on the left side of the brain. She is paralized on her right. She also developed a upper respitory infection which was cured by antibiotics, She can not swollow as of now .The doctors had trouble inserting a feeding tube due to a hiatial hernia. However in the end the were able to place the tube. Mom sleeps all the time .However the last few days she opened her eyes for a few seconds and now were up to about 12 minutes or a little longer . I dont think she recognizes me of my husband. She does follow simple commands such as squeezing our hand, And twice she repeated what and no when asked. Is there any hope of her being able to swallow on her own again and being more alert. We get so many different stories from the doctors to the nurses to the specialists. We can except that mom will never be the same but we want to know if she can still more signs of improvement after 10 days.
HI Thank for asking to the HCM I really appreciate your concern and liking to the history given here I could say that as long as the age of your mother and the clinical condition are concern I think the nursing care is the only way that could just support here clinical condition and this may bring the unexpected good result some time, take care and have a nice day.
