Having pain in my chest that goes from front to back between shoulder blades. Feels as though I swallowed air & it’s trapped but it has awakened me three times this week. Always happens while asleep. Comes on suddenly & subsides very slowly all the while having extreme pain

General & Family Physician 's  Response

The symptoms seem to be related to gastroesophageal reflux disease. I suggest to do an electrocardiogram to exclude cardiac issues. Meanwhile, I suggest using antacids such as Maalox three times a day. I also suggest to use a PPI medication such as Omeprazole 20 mg in the morning before breakfast.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
