Suggest Remedy For Strep Throat

I have been put on a antibiotic for strep throat. it is a 10 day, 2 x per day prescription. I have been taking my birthcontrol for several years now and I know that antibiotics can lessen their efficacy, I will be coming off the antibiotics a day before I will start my new month of BC. Will my birth control still be as effective as normal since I wont be ON the antibiotics any more when I start my new pack of BC?

Hi,
The efficacy of your birth control pills will be normal. Usually the effect of antibiotics can last upto 48 hours after taking the last medication.
So, dont worry.

Regards,
Dr.Riyanka
