Suggest Remedy For Strep Throat

Hello! I have a concern about my throat. About 2 months ago it began to feel like I was developing strep throat, but the photo's I had looked up just didn't fit the bill. I was cleared for strep by my doctor and for any other bacterial infection. My doctor had told me it's probably something viral and it should go away on its own. Problem is, that was a month and a half ago. It has gotten worse and looking actually disturbing to me. It's veiny, yellowish and there appears to be red sores near where my tonsils should be (they were removed when I was a child). Swallowing doesn't hurt and I only feel pain when I breath in sometimes. It bleeds if I'm too rough with my tooth brush and that's a bit frightening. On one side there is what looks like a gash that is quite deep and on the other side it's swollen with another gash a bit further back. I know it isn't contagious as well. A few more details: I'm 18, female, and a smoker. I would greatly appreciate a response, I'm pretty upset. Thanks in advanced!

ENT Specialist 's  Response
in my opinion this is pharyngitis may be of viral cause. but as your dr said viral pharyngitis usually cured on its own in few days. but u still have throat irritation, that is most likely due to smoking as smoking do irritate pharyngeal mucosa time to time and your information dsnt improve. I would recommend you to stop smoking for a while, take antihistaminic, chlorhexidine gargles, avoid cold drinks and take hot bath steam inhalation.
