General Surgeon 's  Response
hi.

noted history of gallbladder stones. yes, you may opt for an elective cholecystectomy (removal of the gallbladder), which is the definitive management in your case. an ultrasound will be recommended to confirm the presence of the pathology. other diagnostics (complete blood count, liver function tests, alkaline phosphatase) and management (medical and surgical) will be directed accordingly. it is best if you consult with a doctor, preferably a general surgeon, for physical examiation and clinical evaluation. cholecystectomy may be done laparoscopically (goldstandard) or open technique. low fat diet is also advised.

hope this helps.

good day!!
