I have a staph infection where the scar and metal screws and plate were used to repair ankle fracture 9 years ago. After 9 weeks on 2 different antibiotics and 8 weeks on crutches it is much better, but still not completely gone. What else should be done to get completely rid of this infection. It still hurts there a little but nowhere close to the burning and soreness before antibiotics (which I am still on). There was a large scab/sore but it is nearly gone now.
