Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a question about the little flap on the inside of my cheek at my bite line. .. There is something stuck in it (splinter-like) that came after I ate spaghetti tonight. I can feel it when i run my tongue across it and i can see it stick outward. I've tried Brushing my teeth, rinsing with peroxide and mouthwash, and now I'm trying to get it out with tweezers. It's extremely irritating. My question is can that little flap be removed? Or any suggestions on how to remove the splinter from my jaw?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that a small flap on the inside of the cheek at the bite line seems to be most probably due to over growth of the sot tissue in that area leading to formation of a Fibroma.. It is a harmless mass of soft tissue..
But for confirmation consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a clinical examination is sufficient for diagnosis.. In case of fibroma surgical excision will help in removal of the flap..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
