Suggest Remedy For Sore Throat And Headache

Hello, four days ago had a headache with a sore throat, took some pain killers and the headache went a away, lost my voice Sunday and coughing up green phlegm, now the sore throat is back with some chesty coughing . Had similar symptoms August and was prescribed some antibiotics, all the symptoms left then but I ve had stuffy nose since then that never went away.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sore throat and headache which seems to be due to strep throat and upper respiratory tract infection.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to

- Avoid intake of outside food and cold carbonated liquids.

- Take Acetaminophen tablet for headache and do tepid sponging in between.

- Drink plenty of fluids and take throat lozenges as well.

- Avoid sharp, spicy and fried food products.

If symptoms doesn't get better in a few days then consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor can examine with laryngoscope and order blood and throat swab test and can plan treatment accordingly.
