Suggest Remedy For Sore Throat After Smoking A Cigar

Hi I am a 19 year old healthy male and over the weekend me and my brothers had a camp fire and had a few cigars over the fire. This past week I have had a sore throat and been coughing up this black and blood looking stuff. Do I have throat cancer from smoking a few cigars?

Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Smoking is always injurious to lungs. You might have suffered acute injury to lungs. Blood in sputum at this young age and few cigars may not be cancer. You need to have sputum examination, blood count and X-ray chest.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Himanshu Dhanak, Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist
