Suggest Remedy For Sharp Pains Caused Due To A Head Injury

i stood up and hit the back of my head against the sharp corner of a sink. i was really really tired and went to bed shortly after, was coherant throughout the night as i was setting my alarm constantly to check on my one year old daughter. the back of my head is swollen pretty notiable and i can feel it and it does not feel normal, it is VERY tender, when i turn my head it is slightly discomfortable. i have had no headaches or dizzines or any other symptoms of any kind, the only thing is random sharp pains that last a second, swelling and tenderness. this happened either yesterday or the day before, i dont quite remember but i feel kind of weak.

Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. It is good that other than tender swelling, you are not having any other symptoms. This swelling and pain will usually subside on its own in 10 to 14 days.

To relieve pain and swelling, you can follow few tips

: Apply icepacks at injury site. It decreases swelling
: Avoid pressure at injury site while lying down
: You can take painkiller like Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription.
: Avoid any further injury
: Take rest

It will relieve your symptoms. If still no relief, you can consult doctor. He might evaluate you for any dangerous head injury and may advise injectable painkillers and CT head. Further management will be decided after CT report.

Hope it will help you.

Thanks. Take care.
