Suggest Remedy For Sharp Pain Caused By Sore Throat

Hi, for the past 2-3 days my throat has been sore, very sore that I can't even swallow liquids without closing my eyes because of the sharp pain. I took a look at the inside of my mouth and saw red-purple veins in the back of my mouth (on the roof). Any ideas on what is going on?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain severe pain in throat and red purple veins seems to be due to a few causes like throat infection caused by either bacteria or virus, acid reflux, post nasal drip etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like throat swab culture and pH view of throat can help in diagnosis..
In case of infection antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, warm saline gargles, steam inhalations and gargle with a numbing mouthwash especially before meals can help..
Sucking throat lozenges and chewing Vitamin C pellets can help..
In case of acid reflux antacids, proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole, light diet and dietary modification will be advised..
