Suggest Remedy For Severe Sinus Infection And Ear Ache From Mid Ear Infection

Hello After catching a bad head cold and going to the Dr to get my desensitisation needles, I was put on Amoxicillin 500 3 times a day for a week. However by Friday my head was ready to explode with sinusitis and was put on Panadine Forte and told to put my head over steam with Vic s and Nazonex up my nose once a day. For 4 days at least now I can t equalise my head as I also have middle ear infection in the eustasion tube and I m in great pain. I have tried to do everything I know Can you help?

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe sinus infection and ear ache from mid ear infection which is due to disturbance in Eustachian tube pressure as it maintains equilibrium between both the organs and their cavities. I would suggest you to take antibiotics and oral decongestants. You should put nasal decongestant drops and nasonex nasal sprays as well. Maintain ear clean and don't prick it with any sharp object. Avoid blowing if you have nose infection as well as it can lead to fall of mucus in throat and further infection. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Start treatment after proper examination. Avoid exposure to allergens such as mist, fog. Investigations like complete blood count & X-ray of paranasal sinus will be helpful in clinching the exact diagnosis. Maintain adequate hydration and take balances diet.
