Suggest Remedy For Severe Nappy Rash

My 2 1/2 year old toddler developed severe nappy rash overnight last wetiek. Our GP prescribed cream and anti biotics last Friday. It has got considerably worse not helped by the antibiotics giving her diarrhea. We are changing her nappy every 1/2 hour but she looks like a burns victim on her bottom. The swabs came back negative for bacteria or fungus. Could this be an allergy? We are seeing the doctor again tomorrow afternoon but I don't know what to do in the meantime as she is in so much pain. She is taking calpol and neurofen for the pain. Thank you!!

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Presence of watery diarrhoea which could be antibiotic is likely the cause for severe diaper rash. Its unlikely to be allergic in origin. I would advise you the following

1. Clean the area thoroughly with wipes after passing stools
2. Local application of Zinc Oxide paste along with calamine will be beneficial.
3. Himalaya Diaper rash cream is also beneficial
4. Bath twice a day: It will remove the adherent stools residue and help in quick healing of Dermatitis.

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance.
