Suggest Remedy For Severe Body Itching With History Of Leaking Heart Valve

My mother is in her 70 s and she has had severe itching for almost a year. Her doctors has not given her any reasons as to why she is experiencing the itching. She has a leaking heart valve that is affecting her liver and she was told about a week ago that her gallbladder is not working at all. They have prescribed OTC medicines such as antihistamines and a topical creams. Nothing has worked so far. Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It's because of her liver and gall bladder! Take follow up from a gastroenterologist and antihistamine is already prescribed so no change in these! Skin biopsy for pathology and immunofluorescence can tell about many things like autoimmune causes in which it is seen! UVB therapy is used now a days for unknown cause and topical Capsaicin plus local anesthetic are used also!

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
