Suggest Remedy For Red Marks On Lower Leg

I have small red whelps on my lower leg that won t heal. Have had them for about 3 months. Thought they were bug bites. Have treated with antibiotic cream, cortisone cream, etc. They will almost disappear and then return. They itch and are tender to the touch.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It may be lichen urticatus also called papular urticaria. It is a hypersensitive reaction to insect bite. It is a relapsing skin disease. Kindly consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment.

I would suggest...

- antihistaminics like levocetirizine
- steroids in tappering dose
- apply mild steroid cream on the lesions
- precautions to avoid insect bites

I hope this would help you..

Thanks.
