Suggest Remedy For Red, Burning Lips Post Upper Lip Waxing

this might sound dumb but whatever. I usually get my upper lip waxed at a salon. But I decided to do it by myself with a kit. After I finished my lip is all red and feels like it s burning. I m putting cold washcloths on it to make it feel better. What s wrong. Did I peel my skin off. It never is like this when I get it done.

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.

I understand from your query that you had a burn while waxing your upper lip.

Scaling and peeling off of skin indicate that the area is healing. The regime that you have been following seems right.

Continue moisturizers and re apply every 4-5 hours.

Use a sunscreen every 4 hours and physically cover the inflamed area as it will be more prone for pigmentation.

Avoid using tretinoin till the area heals completely.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
