yes, I have a very sore throat, I had it last sat then it went away and now its back, My left side of my throat is swollen and its very hard to swallow, its red but no white patches, i also have a headache, and some muscle pain. The pain is so intense its like a burning, itchy, painful, and i feel like I have a razor blade stuck in my left side. I was wondering if I should go to a doc or not. I feel warm but not sure if I have a fever.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain it seems like you have a throat infection and can be either bacterial or viral in nature and infection has led to inflammation and swelling in throat along with swollen tonsils leading to Tonsillitis..
You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he/she can do a rapid strep test as well as a rapid mono test to rule out for the exact cause of infection and treatment can be planned accordingly..
He can advise you to take a course of antibiotics like Azithromycin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, chew a Vitamin C pellet, warm saline gargles, steam inhalations and using a cool mist humidifier in your room..
Sip on warm water throughout the day and take a soft diet..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
Take ample of rest and if you feel temperature rise you can take Acetaminophen..
Take ample of rest..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
