I was prescribed lisinopril for high blood pressure in June. A couple of weeks after beginning I had a UTI/bladder infection. I was prescribed an antibiotic for 10 days. A few days after completing the medication I developed another UTI/Bladder infection. I was prescribed a different antibiotic for 14 days. A few days after completing the medication I developed yet another UTI/Bladder infection. The doctors office said the bacteria level was low and believed with increasing my fluid intake I could flush the remaining bacteria out. They didn t want to put me on a third round of antibiotics at that time. After that visit I noticed if I didn t drink a lot of water I would develope symptoms. As soon as I drank a lot of water the symptoms would subside. I had a check up appointment with my doctor in September and I asked they do a urine culture. Bacteria was still present so they put me on a different antibiotic for 10 days. Once again after completing the medication I am again struggling with symptoms of I do not drink a lot of water. I had asked the Doctor of lisinopril could be causing the UTI/ Bladder infection but was told it is not the cause. I have never had these issues before, I am a 57 year old female. Could Lisinopril be the problem?
