Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have had blood on my stool . It has happened before as well but it usually disappears after a while but happens again if I have even the slightest of constipation . Usually only the anus part burns nothing internal hurts . What could it be and how can I gt rid of this please help .
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. The symptoms of blood on stool, particularly on constipation and burning at anus only indicate that you may be suffering from fissure-in-ano wherein you get a small cut-wound at the anal verge due to the hard stool. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Laxatives and stool softener to have soft stools. Sitz bath before and after passing stool. High fiber diet and plenty of oral fluids. Avoid the foods and beverages that you know cause constipation. Avoid stress and anxiety. Consult a Genera surgeon for per-rectal examination, ano-proctoscopy and get treated further as the needs may be.
