Suggest Remedy For Rashes On Buttocks During Menstruation

Hi. I have a rash which keeps recurring every time I cycle. It s symptoms are similar to saddle sores but pictures suggest it is different. I have rested it for three months to try and get better but it flares up every time I ride. It is at the top of my hamstrings near where it meets the bottom if my butt cheeks towards the inside. I have tried talc, antibacterial cream, acne creams, chamois cream but nothing seems to have worked.

Hi
Welcome to HCM.
Yours is a common complaint faced by may women.
The first thing you must check for is whether you are allergic to the sanitary napkin or product you are using. Many people are allergic to the plastic material used and I suggest you use a cotton lined one, change it regularly and keep the area dry.
When you do get such rashes apply a calamine lotion over the area to dry and soothe the rash. Don't wear tight or synthetic clothing at the time.
If it is severe and persisting each time, use a fluticasone cream twice a day for five days and stop.
Keep in mind the possibility of a recurrent fungal infection in the skin folds. That may need to be seen by a doctor to diagnose and give you a full course of treatment. Using antifungal or antibacterial creams irregularly causes the infection to keep coming back.
Hope this helps.
