Suggest Remedy For Poison Oak Rash On Penis

My boyfriend has a poison oak rash an different areas all over. It is the worst on his penis. It is swollen and oozing and is very painful and uncomfortable for him. I got home some Benadryl extra strength itch cream and calamine lotion. Neither works that great. I m just wondering what to do. I know we could go to a doctor and asked for some prednisone but is there anything else we can do

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

If swollen and oozing, this suggests severe allergic reaction that might need initial injectable antihistamine and steroids followed by oral and topical steroids. Kindly consult your doctor without delay. As the lesion is oozing, it is better to avoid calamine lotion.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
