Suggest Remedy For Persistent Sore Throat And Ear Ache

Hello, I went to an Urgent Care facility yesterday for the following symptoms: sore neck, ear ache, sore throat. They tested me for strep and mono but never inspected my nasal cavity or felt my tonsils. I have no fever but the pain in my throat, neck and ears feels worse. Do you have any ideas of what this could be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
From your description of the disease, you are suffering from viral sore throat. Although there is no cure for a sore throat caused by a cold virus, there are ways to help you feel more comfortable. Drinking warm liquids, gargling with warm salt water, sucking on ice chips, or taking an over-the-counter medicine may relieve symptoms of pain or fever. When you are sick with a cold, it is also important to get enough rest, eat a healthy diet, and drink plenty of fluids.
