Suggest Remedy For Persistent Itching In Scrotum

I have an incredibly itchy scrotum that has been persistent for a couple years. At times it is worse, but the itch is always present. Rarely, I will scratch until I get bleeding. Once the bleeding occurs it takes quite a long time for that to heal. What could cause this? Also, what can I use as a treatment for now and a preventive in the future? Thank you

You might be suffering from scrotal dermatitis. A mild steroid cream like fluticasone be applied over the itchy areas to reduce inflammation. Oral antihistamines like fexofenadine may also be used. Avoid fiddling or scratching the lesions as much as possible. Consult your dermatologist regarding the above mentioned therapy. Regards
