Suggest Remedy For Pain In The Navel Area

A section of skin to the lower right of my navel is extremely painful/sensitive to the touch. The pain continues around, breaks at my side with no pain, but becomes very sensitive and painful in my lower back just right of te spine. Almost feels like a very bad sunburn on the surface of the skin, buit is deep pain when pressure is applied by fingers in to the area on my back. I have had shingles in the past, and I have had a shingles vaccination. I thought that’s what it was, but it has not surfaced, and is in fact much more painful than the shingles outbreaks I have had in the past. I picked up a script for acyclovir but it seems to be getting worse. Thoughts. This hurts bad!!!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of a pain under the skin at a particular area, pain at low back on pressure, history of Shingles in past, Shingles vaccine after an attack.
I would advise you to continue with Acyclovir, but the pain may be a disc related problem in the thoracic region hence it is necessary to have an MRI of the spine to confirm or rule out the disc or such related problems causing compression.
An opinion of a General Surgeon to clinically assess that there is no problem related to the intra-abdominal structures and ultrasonography to support the views are necessary.
I find this answer helpful
