Suggest Remedy For Pain In Abdomen Due To Diverticula Of Colon

I've been diagnosed with Severe Diverticula of the sigmoid colon over 12 years and control the symptoms quite well with healthy eating, however the past few weeks I've experienced an increase in wind and bowel movements and pain with discomfort. This is now starting to impact my work, Is there anything I can do?

Hello,

Probably, you may have developed an acute episode or diverticulitis or food intolerance. Get stool examination and colonoscopy done to confirm the cause for pain and discomfort.

Avoid spicy food, alcohol, and fatty food. Use tablet Metrogyl thrice a day for five days and tablet Amoxicillin Clavulanate thrice a day for five days.

If symptoms do not improve, please consult your physician, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
