Suggest Remedy For Pain And Redness On Breast

Hi! I work as an ER nurse, so obviously my mind runs to the worst with symptoms. :) I have an area of redness around part of my right breast. It is tender to the touch, probably only a 1 or 2 out of 10 on the pain scale. It has been like this for about 3 days, the area of redness possibly getting bigger. Any ideas?? I m 37, non-smoker, no kids......am freaked out about breast cancer.

Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand the concern.
The red & painful area on breast seems to be inflammation( trauma, fall , thrust) of breast. It should be controlled with anti inflammatory medicines & antibiotic as per advise of your doctor.
Breast cancer is not associated with pain & inflammation.. it is usually in form of a painless mass which is fixed to deep tissue & sometimes skin too. It is associated with hard glands in axila on same or opposite side. You don't seem to have such complaints.. so please don't worry.
Thanks.
