Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
I have read the details given by you.
If you have got your tonsils removed, it dose not mean that you can not get strep infection. It can happen after tonsillectomy. It can also be due to some other viral or bacterial infection.
You have not mentioned whether you have any other symptoms like fever, chills, headache, etc.
The red spot may be due to swollen adenoids in your throat. For now, you should start taking antibiotic active against throat infection like azithromycin or amoxycilline. You should also do gargles with chlorhexidine or betadine in dilution with water. You can take paracetamol for soreness in throat and if you have fever.
Hope this will be helpful.
Please ask if there is any further questions.
Take care.
