I have recently finished radiation therapy to the neck and chest. I have an oral thrush with a black tongue as well. I am currently on nystatin and I have a metallic taste and I can not taste my food very well. Will I get my taste buds back and will the metallic taste go away and if so how long does it usually take?

Actually radiation therapy causes this trush and improper taste, to prevent it you have to go for proper oral hygiene maintenance with regular mouthwash.
And to prevent thrush and dryness of mouth you have to go for excess intake of water.
And your taste will take 2 to 3 months to recover back.
