Suggest Remedy For On And Off Swollen, Painful Lips And Small Cuts On Both Lips While Being On Acyclovir

Hi. I am having ongoing, periodic problem with swollen lips. When I look closely I see small cuts or openings both on bottom lip and top. They are swollen and burn, painful. I have been to my doctor who prescribed Acyclovir. I have had chicken pox and cold sores. Should I go back to my doctor?

As per your complain swollen lips, burning and pain and formation of small cuts can be due to allergic reaction and can be due to some unknown allergen.
You need to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like allergic tests can help in confirming the exact cause of the symptoms and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now you can take anti allergics like Benadryl, do cold compresses over lips, apply a steroid ointment and thick coat of Petroleum jelly over the lips..
Maintain a good hygiene, limit sun exposure and drink plenty of water..
