Suggest Remedy For Muffled Ear

Hi how are you? I had a bottle of Pool Chlorine explode on me last nite in my face, which was real similar to a loud gunshot. My left ear is a little muffled now. I can still hear and i have no pain but was just curious if this will subside over a little time?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain muffled hearing after sudden exposure to loud sound can lead to Acoustic Trauma to the ear..
It can lead to perforation of the eardrum as well as there can also be damaged to hair cells present in the inner ear leading to muffled hearing or can also cause complete hearing loss..
You should consult an Otolayngologist and get evaluated and an Otoscopic examination can be diagnostic..
Many a times the patients start recovering within 48 to 72 hours after taking steroids, antibiotics and decongestants..
In case if the injury is severe and there is large perforation of the ear drum surgical correction may be advised..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
