Suggest Remedy For Metallic Taste In The Mouth

I have a metallic taste in my mouth for a week. On Thursday, while having sex, my head felt like it was gonna explode from pressure. Saturday the pressure in my head got worse. Went to ER, had a CT and they found nothing but intermittent high BP. Sunday, I dry heaved and it felt like a thunderclap in my head. Paramedics said my bp was 187/104. I m dizzy, nauseous as well. CT was still negative. What s going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and thanks for writing.

I can understand your concern and would try to help you in the best possible way. Your elevated BP needs further evaluation and has to be taken care of. I suggest you consult your physician and undergo a hypertensive workup to rule out secondary causes of hypertension. You may require a BP check up, blood tests like CBC, KFT, Thyroid Levels, Urine R/M, fasting lipid profile and other tests including ECG, Echo for the workup.

You may be put on a managment plan for hypertension whic includes dietary changes, regular exercise, medications and relaxation techniques.

As far as metallic taste is concerned it may be due to poor oral hygiene, drugs, infections, chronic illnesses like diabetes and hypertension. If your hypertension is taken care of you would probably stop having this symptom.
