Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain in the bottom of my left foot from the center towards the heel. It hurts to stand on it or walk. When I am sitting, it doesn t hurt if I rest my leg up on something high. When my leg is down while sitting, it feels like my leg as well as my thigh is starting to swell. I don t keep it down very long at that time because I don t know what will happen.
* The leg and foot swelling with particular pain presentation, can be part of plantar calcaneum spur or other issues of the arch of the foot. A clinical examination is must for precise diagnosis, however following measures will help you to some extent for pain relief
- wear soft, thick pad slippers with accupuncture advantage through multiple thorny eruptions over the upper surface
- avoid walking barefoot, fit shoes, sandals if using
- control of body weight
- control of blood sugar
- local application of heating pad
* Consult your primary care for need of an x-ray or further work up.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
