Suggest Remedy For Itchy Legs Caused Due To Tick Bite

Had a tick bite on the back of my leg behind the knee. My husband removed it, the whole tick. I continued to swell in the area for a month, so I went to the doctor. The doctor lanced it and said there was nothing left of the tick, just puss came out when she lanced it. Gave me an antibiotic. Three weeks later, it still itches. How can I get it to quit itching? The swelling is going down.

My Dear

Welcome to Healthcaremagic!

I have reviewed your description and find that the problem is easily manageable with following steps.

1 Itching is part of healing process. It should go away with continued treatment in the from of anti allergic. Cetirizine in such cases is a safe choice. It is reassuring that the swelling is reducing.

2 Please keep on applying antibiotic cream to the area for faster resolution.

You should be well again in 7 -10 days.

Best wishes
