Suggest remedy for itching and burning sensation after having catheter

Hello, my grandmother had a catheter inserted for the first time after a urinary infection. The physician told her to leave it in for 4 days and to come back and have it removed. This was last night, this morning she is having a burning sensation and itching. What can I do to help her, other than take her back and have it removed early?

hi Usually it is not ideal to keep the catheter for more than 48 hrs as it perse is a risk factor for urinary infection. The symptoms you explained may be due to the urinary infection only. Please get the catheter removed and get an culture done in urine to find the organism causing it
