Suggest Remedy For Iron Deficiency

Hi Dr, today i just take my 10 month baby to the doctor & she said her hemoglobin is 10.1 & it is less & u should give her iron. but the things is that she is going to have new tooth & she haven't eat enough food these days "because of pain i think" & also she had small accident on her finger & she lost som blood, i want to now if these things effecting on Hb test & can i wait & feed her better & give her iron then i take her for blood test !?

Hi.. 10 months old baby usually have hemoglobin in this range due to physiological anemia... U can do dietary modifications as advised by your doctor.. as iron is also important in brain development , most of the pediatrician will prescribe iron supplements during this period as till two years of age max growth of brain will occur.. So no harm in taking supplements.. Thanks
