Suggest Remedy For Infection In Tooth After Root Canal

i had root canal on my #30 teeth 14 years ago . last month i had pain /infection on my same teeth dentist gave me antibiotics...told me do retreatment of # 30. I have no insurance. few times i have burning sensation on my tongue touching area of inside #30 teeth. last for 15-20 miniutes . is this beginning of infection again? is it better to remove my teeth or retreatment of root canal . i am 54 years old male. thanks

Can understand your concern..

As per your complain it is very much possible that the root canal treated tooth gets re- infected and becomes painful and in case the infection is not subsided by medicines root canal needs to be done again.

But firstly antibiotics should be taken for a period of one week and mild infection mostly subsides with antibiotics but if it does not re-RCT can be done.
As a natural tooth is worth a thousand dollars and artificial tooth can not compete with a natural tooth especially a front tooth as it is important for a good appearance also, so if it can be saved it is always better option.

I would suggest you to complete your medicine and then observe that there is relief or needs treatment..

Burning on tongue is not due to tooth and can be due to some other cause which you need to consult your doctor.
